Rosalie Daguanno 1914 - 2008 NORTH BENNINGTON Rosalie Daguanno, 94, widow of Joseph Daguanno, a resident of Homestead Green, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at her residence, following a brief illness. Born in New York City on March 24, 1914, daughter of the Salvatore and Guytina Scalici Ganci, she received her education in the schools there. For many years Rose was employed as a seamstress in New York and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed family gatherings and cooking, especially making her famous Italian spaghetti sauce. Her husband, Joseph, whom she married Oct. 4, 1936, in Brooklyn, N.Y., died Feb. 21, 1999. She leaves a daughter, Elizabeth Daguanno of North Bennington and her fiancé, Stephen Freely of Pownal; four grandchildren, Michael LoGuidice and his wife, Patricia, of Mays Landing, N.J., Paula Clayton and her fiancé, Kevin Coon, of Bennington, Joseph LoGuidice of Atlantic City, N.J., and Rosalie Carlson and her companion, Brian Veit, of Kings Park, N.Y.; four great-grandchildren, Kevin J. Coon II, Alyssa M. Coon, Andrew Hager and Kevin Hagar; a great-great-grandson, Caleb Gore, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rose was predeceased by two brothers, Jerry and Sal Ganci. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Friday, June 13, 2008 at 11:15 a.m. from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME and then from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington at 12 noon where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 until 11:15 a.m. Burial will take place in the family lot in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Should friends desire, contributions in Rosalie Daguanno's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
