MANCHESTER -- Rose Rovnak, 92, a resident of Manchester for the last three years formally of Greenpoint, N.Y. and Howelltown, N.J. died at the Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington on Wednesday, March 26. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on August 14, 1910, one of four girls and four boys of Joseph and Rose (Butkovsky) Boros. She moved frequently as a child.

In 1930 she was married to John P. Rovnak in Czechoslovakia. The Rovnaks lived in Greenpoint, where they owned and operated the Rovnak’s Princess Manor Restaurant. Rose was well known for her cooking and recipes. They operated the restaurant from 1957-1991. Mr. Rovnak died in 1992. She was a member of Saint Veronica’s Catholic Church in Howelltown, N.J. She enjoyed knitting in her free time and made many beautiful things for family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mrs. Rovnak is survived by her son John of Fort Pierce, Fla. and her daughter Regina Cramer of Chatham, N.J. Also five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A private service of committal where her cremated remains will be entombed with her husband will take place in the Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Lakewood, N.J. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Brewster Funeral Service.
