Roy W. Kingsley

1941-2009 GUILFORD On Monday December 21, 2009, Roy W. Kingsley, 68, a resident of Wocell Dr. in Guilford, crossed over to his heavenly home with his devoted family by his side at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital.

Roy was born in Whitingham, Vt. on Dec. 9, 1941 the son of Arthur W. and Dorothy Plumb Kingsley. Roy received his early education in Whitingham schools and was a graduate of Whitingham High School. In his earlier years, Roy worked for the Adams Mill and then for Fiber Mark which was formerly known as Case Brothers, Boise Cascade and Specialty Paper Board, retiring after forty years of service. Roy enjoyed bowling and all kinds of sports. He enjoyed watching his family play baseball, softball and basketball. He was an avid New York Yankee fan and liked listening to country and western music especially Johnny Cash.

Roy is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Wocell, of Guilford to whom he married in Guilford, Vt. on Oct. 14, 1989, his mother, Dorothy Kingsley, of Jacksonville, his son, Robin Kingsley, of Jacksonville, his step-son, Christopher Wocell, of Norwalk, Conn., his step-daughter, Lynne Erhardt, of Sandy Hook, Conn., his brothers, Gordon Kingsley, and his wife, Anita, of Jacksonville and Merle Kingsley, and his wife, Theresa of Irving, Mass., his sister, Genevieve Jacobs, and her husband, Reginald of Whitingham, his grandchildren, Derek, Dylan, and Taylor Kingsley, Kathryn Wocell, and Spencer, and Madison Erhardt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Allan Kingsley who died Jan. 3, 2004.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Roy will be held Wednesday Dec. 30, 2009 at 1 p.m. at the Jacksonville Community Church. Pastor John Brigham will conduct the service. Interment will follow in the family lot in Sadawga Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday evening Dec. 29, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. at COVEY & ALLEN FUNERAL HOME, 44 East Main Street Wilmington, Vt. when the family will be in attendance.
