Ruby Forrest Stewart 1922-2012 Ruby Forrest Stewart, 90, a former longtime resident of Dewey St, and more recently of Cora B. Whitney Apartments on Gage St. died Tuesday June 26, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Wilmington, Vt., January 11, 1922. She was the daughter of the late Henry W. Forrest Sr. and Grace A. (Clark) Forrest. Ruby received her education in Wilmington, Vt., and later graduated from Baypath Business Institute in Brattleboro, Vt. She married Kenneth Stewart of Jacksonville, Vt., on July 19, 1942. Mr. Stewart died January 15, 1990. In earlier years Ruby worked as a waitress and for 36 years she was employed by Marcel J. Lewis M.D. as secretary and bookkeeper, retiring on December 31, 1989. Ruby's main interest was her home and her wonderful family. Survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Ellen Crawford of Manchester, N.H., Cynthia Yarnal and her husband Dean of Bennington and Diane Bleau and her husband Charlie of Bennington. Eight grandchildren, one step grandchild and fifteen great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by a grandson Robert France and a great grandson Branden France. She was also pre-deceased by three sisters Leone Carruth, Helen Steele and Louise Rice and four brothers, Earl, Charles, Warren and Robert Forrest. The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday June 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. The burial will follow in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Thursday June 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire contributions in memory of Ruby may be made to the Vermont Heart Association through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
