Obituary Condolences

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. -- Russell H. Bagley Jr., of Saint Luke’s Place, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 21, 2004.

Born in Tarrytown, on Oct. 24, 1935, he was the son of the late Russell H. and Eleanor (Chema) Bagley. Russell attended White Plains High School in Westchester County and studied at City College of New York. In his early years, he became an executive for Macy’s in New York and Albany. With his partner, Ronald Cox, he founded Four Corner’s East Antiques, formerly of Main Street and currently located on North Street in Bennington, Vt.

Russell was a very active member of Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington where he served on the vestry. He also served as vice president of the board of trustees at Saint Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church in New York City and was an associate member of Saint Bonafice Episcopal Church in Sarasota, Fla. He was also a member of the Art and Antique Dealers League of America.

Survivors include an aunt, Beth Hurd of Orange City, Fla.; and his dear friend David Beier of Cambridge. He is predeceased by a sister, Doris Schmidt, and a brother, Donald Bagley.

A memorial service to celebrate Russell’s life will be held at Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bennington, Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Miner, interim rector of Saint Peter’s, officiating.

A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.

Russell will be buried in Mountain View Cemetery in Cockesbury, N.J.

Russell has requested contributions in his memory be made to Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church, through the offices of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
