Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth A. Rice were held at the Arlington chapel of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Thursday afternoon. Officiating was the Rev. Michael Morneault. Several of Mrs. Rice’s favorite musical selections were offered during the service, including “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Son-in-law Larry Clayton sang “I’ll Fly Away,” and family friend Gayle Keyes sang “You Are My Sunshine.” American Legion Post 69 of Arlington conducted services in honor of Mrs. Rice, a longtime member of the organization.

A memorial reception was held at the American Legion Hall, hosted by the auxiliary. Interment with committal prayers took place on Friday at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Cemetery in Schuylerville, N.Y., where she was laid to rest with her husband, Walter, with Pastor Morneault officiating.

Mrs. Rice, 82, a resident of Oak Knoll Road, died on Monday, July 3, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington. Arrangements were under the care of the Arlington chapel of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
