POWNAL -- Ruth Ann Roraback, 64, a resident of Green Mt. Trailer Park in Pownal, died on Thursday afternoon, May 20, 2004 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington following a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Roraback was born on May 20, 1940 in Danbury, Conn., the daughter of Edward and Ruth Alice (Von Rohr) White. She was first married to James Ruiz and later to John William Roraback, both of whom survive.

Mrs. Roraback spent the majority of her life as a resident of Danbury, Bennington and Pownal. She had been employed for more than 20 years at National Semiconductor in Danbury.

She enjoyed astrology, plants and animals and, especially, spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Ruth Alice White of Pownal; daughters and sons-in-law Shirley and Andy Martin of Pownal and Shelly and Billy Scrivens of Bennington; son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Judy Ruiz of New Milford, Conn.; brother and sister-in-law Edward and Kathy White of Danbury; sister and brother-in-law Frances and Irv Saunders of Danbury; her grandchildren Sunshine and her husband Stephen Sauer; Nicholas Gillotti, Cassandra, Scott and Krystal Scrivens and Ruby, Olivia, Sydney and Shelby Ruiz; her great-grandchildren Darren, Zachary and Tyson Sauer; nieces, nephews and her longtime companion Gene Stevens and his family.

A service to remember the life of Mrs. Roraback will be held on Sunday, May 30 at 3 p.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Bennington.

Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, May 30 from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
