Ruth G. Goodwin

1930-2012 Ruth G. Goodwin, 82, widow of Donald Goodwin, a resident of Scarey Lane, North Bennington, died Friday, December 21, 2012 at her residence following a long illness.

Born in Bennington on June 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Reed and Lina (Burgess) Shepard.

Ruth received her education in Bennington and was employed for over 40 years at BenMont Paper Company until the time of her retirement.

Ruth was a long time member of both American Legion Post 13 Auxillary and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxillary. She enjoyed gambling and trips to both Saratoga and Foxwoods casinos.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Lorraine Lorette of Bennington and William and Sandra Lorette of North Bennington; two grandchildren, Kelly Lorette of Bennington and William Lorette of North Bennington and a great-granddaughter, Carol Ann Lorette. She is also survived by two sisters, a brother and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ruth was predeceased by two grandchildren, Kristine and D.J. Lorette.

At Ruth's request there will be no funeral services held.
