WHITE CREEK, N.Y. -- Ruth M. Hunt, 92, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. She resided on Lincoln Hill Road in White Creek for the past 58 years.

Ruth was born on Jan. 15, 1915, in White Creek daughter of the late Albert and Edith (Woodard) Gulley Sr. She attended schools in White Creek and Shaftsbury, Vt. She worked at several factories in the Bennington area and helped on the family farm all of her life. She was the wife of the late Ralph Hunt who died in 1974. Ruth and Ralph were married on Jan. 9, 1943, in Shaftsbury, Vt. Ruth enjoyed driving her Massey tractor, gardening and spending time with her family.

Survivors include two sons Clarence “Tom” Hunt and his wife, Linda, and Joseph Hunt and the late Joyce Hunt all of White Creek; her sister-in-law Viola Gulley of North Bennington, Vt.; six grandchildren Dawn Keus, Daniel Hunt, Darcy Hunt, Jason Burdick, Jason Hunt and Jennifer Hunt; she is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ruth is predeceased by a sister Irene Chesney and two brothers June Gulley and Robert Gulley Sr.

Funeral services will be on Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Burial will follow the service at Rosewood Cemetery in White Creek. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either the White Creek Fire Department or the White Creek Methodist Church through the funeral home.
