Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Vachon were held from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003 where the liturgy of Christian death and burial was offered by the Rev. Vincent Copploa, c.s.c., associate pastor.

The organist was Don McMahon and the cantor was Monica Murray. Hymns offered during the funeral mass were “Ave Maria,” “How Great Thou Art,” “On Eagle’s Wings” and “Here I Am Lord.” The pall that draped Mrs. Vachon’s casket during the funeral mass was placed by her daughter, Pamela Vachon- Duprea and her daughter-in-law, Kathleen Vachon. The scriptural readings were offered by Rebecca Vachon, a granddaughter and Kathi Cummings, a niece. The offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters Rebecca Vachon, Alicia Emaish and Jamie Joly. Acolytes were Leonard Anzivino, James Kemp, Gerald Amadon and Bernard Bourgeois.

A prayer service at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home preceded the funeral mass.

The funeral procession was escorted by the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department where Mrs. Vachon had been employed prior to her retirement.

Burial took place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery with Father Coppola offering the committal prayers.

Mrs. Vachon, widow of Richard H. Vachon, a resident of Bowen Road, died Dec. 7, 2003 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home.
