Ruth A. Wyman

1913-2010 ARLINGTON, VT Ruth Alice Cullinan Wyman, formerly of Arlington, and Gage Street in Bennington, passed away peacefully Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Born in Arlington, Vt., on Oct. 31, 1913, daughter of George C. and Eva Signor Cullinan, she received her education in Arlington and Rutland schools, graduating from Mt. St. Joseph High School, class of 1932.

Ruth worked for Attorney John Whalen for 38 years as an administrative assistant and coordinated the Insurance portion of the office. Ruth was also instrumental, while working for Dr. Russell, she helped in the implementation of all the cataloging in Arlington Library for the entire history of Arlington, Vt.

Ruth enjoyed attending plays both in Dorset and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. She was a big supporter of Little League and soccer and liked watching basketball. She was an avid reader and enjoyed helping others. Ruth won many awards for her knitting and sewing expertise and cherished times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ruth was a member of St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church in Arlington, where she was also a member of the Ladies Sodality.

Ruth leaves her son, Arthur Wyman of Bennington; her nephew, Ralph Wyman of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; her nieces, Joyce Wyman of Arlington, Penny Dalpe and Cheryl Sausville of Morego, N.Y.; her friends, Carol Cornell of Bennington, and Helen Adair; her daughter-in-law, Betty Wyman of Churubusco, Ind.; her grandchildren, Nancy Wyman of Reno, Nev., Scott Wyman of Indiana, and Samuel Wyman of Baltimore, Md.; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph M. Wyman, whom she married in Arlington, Vt., on Aug. 14, 1935, and her son, John Wyman, who died Jan. 20, 2006.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Ruth will be announced at a later date. There are no visiting hours.
