Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Sadie E. Sweet were held at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home on Wednesday morning with the Rev. Arnet Mathers, pastor of the Bennington Seventh-day Adventist Church officiating.

Organist for the service was Janet Hurd who offered a medley of musical selections for the prelude, the selected hymns of meditation included “In the Garden,” “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and the duet of Mrs. Hurd and violinist Wesley Baggett offered “The Old Rugged Cross.” James and Theresa Sweet Jr. sang “No Night There.”

Personal reflections, memories and tributes were offered by many in attendance including her sons Peter and Tom, nephew Richard France, grandchildren and friends.

Burial followed in the Sweet family lot in Woodford Cemetery with Pastor Arnet offering the committal prayers. A time of fellowship and refreshment was held at the Bennington Seventh-day Adventist Church following the graveside service.

Serving as honorary bearers were James Howe Sr. and James Hoffmeister, active bearers were a son Peter Sweet, grandsons Seth Sweet, James Sweet and Todd Sweet and friends Jerry Coulter and Charles Balcom.

Mrs. Sweet, 90, a resident of Nelson Road died on Oct. 20 at The Centers For Living and Rehabilitation where she had been recovering from a recent illness.

Arrangements were entrusted o the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home.
