Sara E. LaBombard Obituary
Sara Evelyn LaBombard, age 89, wife of Rev. Floyd LaBombard, a resident of West Road, Bennington, VT. died on December 9, 2016.

She was born in Ceredo, WV, November 7, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Jay and Mamie (Thompson) Workman. She received her education in Spencer, WV and was a graduate of Spencer High School. She later was a graduate of Alderson Broaddus College in WV. Rev, and Mrs. LaBombard were married August 14, 1949 in Spencer, WV.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bennington. In earlier years, Mrs. LaBombard was a schoolteacher in Norwich, CT and later taught first grade at Pownal Elementary School for seventeen years until her retirement.

She is survived by three sons and daughters in law; Jayman H. "Jay" and Patty LaBombard of Pownal, VT, Richard F. and Patricia LaBombard, and Steven C. and Nancy LaBombard both of Bennington. Two grandchildren, Lori LaBombard of Northampton, MA and Nathan LaBombard of Bennington. A Great granddaughter Carolyn LaBombard of Bennington. She leaves two sisters; Janet Needs of New Haven, WV and Frances Knapp of Barbarsville, WV. Two brothers; John Workman of Spencer, WV and Fred Workman of Falmouth, KY. And nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband and a brother Robert Workman.

SERVICES: A memorial service will be held from the First Baptist Church in Bennington on Wed. Dec. 14 at 11:30. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 until 11:30.

Burial will follow at the family lot in the White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington. A Reception will take place following the burial at the First Baptist Church.
