EAST DORSET -- Sarah Electra Toweslee, 87, a longtime resident of East Dorset died suddenly at her neighbor’s house in East Dorset on Friday night, Aug. 26, 2005.

”Electey” was born in Landgrove on Aug. 12, 1918, and attended local schools there. She moved to the family farm in East Dorset in 1932.

Electey was married to Ernie Carlson and spent some years in Wallingford. Mr. Carlson died and she returned to East Dorset and later married the late Raymond Toweslee.

Electey’s home was a gathering place for her friends and neighbors, especially on holidays. She was a good host and excellent cook. Her pies and cookies were worth the visit. She enjoyed dominos and a good game of bingo with friends. Most of all she loved her animals, especially her dog, Taco. Her family and friends will miss her kind and outspoken ways.

She is survived by her sister, Katie Keyes of Manchester, many nieces and nephews and good friend, Jean Wilson. She was predeceased by her brothers, Clarence, Alvin, Henry, Wilber, and William Crandall; her sisters, Christine Bushmen, Pearl Welch, Lillian Ploof and Florence Capen.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Her cremated remains will be scattered back to the earth on the family farm.
