Sheila P. Gore

1953 - 2010 BENNINGTON, VT Sheila Pinsonneault Gore, 56, a resident of Chapel Road passed peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Sheila was born in Bennington on Oct. 23, 1953, daughter of Patricia Betit Pinsonneault and the late Edward Pinsonneault. She grew up in Bennington, attending local schools, and was a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School, Class of 1972. Sheila and Geoffrey Gore were married at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on Feb. 23, 1974, recently celebrating 36 years of marriage.

For many years, she had worked at the family restaurant, The Vermont Steak House, and for the past 15 years at The Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester. Sheila enjoyed clogging and was an amazing seamstress. She was a devoted member of The Green Mountain Christian Center. Sheila loved the Lord with every ounce of her being, and this she shared with everyone she met. She will be remembered as an extraordinary loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend.

Pinsonneault of Bennington, husband, Geoff; their children, Melissa Gore and companion Todd Hurley of Sunderland, Steven Gore and companion Christy Bigart, and Nathan Gore, all of Bennington; grandchildren, Caleb and Zava; brothers, Rick and wife, Joan, of Bennington, Mike and wife, Deb, of Palm Bay, Fla., Ron and wife, Jan, of Topsham, Maine, Bob and companion, Jill Congdon, of Bennington, Joe and wife, Stacy, of Lyndonville, Greg and wife, Lori, of Bennington, John and wife, Chris, of Rochester, N.Y., and Jim and wife, Laurie, of Bennington; sisters, Valerie Dwyer of Bennington, Kitty and husband, Gary Lewis, of Pownal, Wendy and husband, Dave Ballou, of Bennington; mother-in-law, Britt Gore of Charlottsville, Va.; brothers-in-law, Chris Gore of Gunnison, Colo., and Barry and Betsey Gore of Dexter, Mich., as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father, Ed Pinsonneault, brother Larry, granddaughter Zandri, father-in-law Harold Gore, and sister and brother-in-law, Jen and Ken Lewis.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Sheila's Life- will be held on Monday, March 22, at 1 p.m. at The Green Mountain Christian Center on Main Street, with the Rev. John Goyette and the Rev. David Hickey conducting the service. Friends are invited to call at the church on Monday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. when the family will be present.
