Simone Mary Ange Gauthier Chaloux 1922-2012 BENNINGTON Simone Mary Ange (Gauthier) Chaloux, 90, formerly of Gage Street in Bennington, passed away March 13, 2012 at Crescent Manor Care Center in Bennington. Simone was born in South Walden, Vt., on January 13, 1922 the daughter of Joseph and Roseanna (Guay) Gauthier and attended local schools. Simone worked as a waitress for various area restaurants for many years and also operated her own sewing and seamstress business. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. Simone is survived by her children Richard Meddie Chaloux of Bullhead City, Ariz., and Joanne Chaloux of Lakewood, California, her sister Jeanine Mattson of Hardwick, Vermont, nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Meddie A. Chaloux, whom she married December 21, 1939 in Hardwick, Vt. Mr. Chaloux passed away October 2, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two daughters; Pauline Cocchia who died in 1998 and Jeanine Caviola who passed away in 2002, and her grandson Raymond Caviola who died in 2003. FUNERAL NOTICE: A liturgy of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Saturday morning March 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Bennington. Interment will follow in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
