Stanley H. Towsley 1922-2008 DORSET Stanley H. Towsley, 85 a lifelong resident of the area, died peacefully at his home in Dorset surrounded by his loving family on Saturday morning, April 26, 2008. He was born in Danby, Vt. on Nov. 5, 1922, the son of Earl and Harriet Towsley. He served in the Army during World War II. He was married to the former Jean Park. Stanley was a quarryman in the Danby Marble Quarry for 27 years. He enjoyed fishing and liked to hunt in his earlier years. His main interest was just enjoying his home life. He was a member of the Manchester Eagles and the Dorset Sportsmen's Club. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of Dorset; a son and daughter-in-law, Jack Towsley and Geralyn Manning of Dorset, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his special friends, Willow and Marley. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce Towsley, and a daughter, Barbara Towsley. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held Saturday May 3, 2008 at 10 a.m. at the BREWSTER FUNERAL HOME, 34 Park Place, Manchester, Vt. The Manchester Eagles Club will conduct a service at the beginning of the memorial service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Stanley's memory be made to the Rutland Area Hospice in care of Brewster Funeral Service, P.O. Box 885 Manchester, VT 05255.
