NORTH HOOSICK, N.Y. -- Stanton W. “Oh Fudge” Danforth, 82, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2003 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. He resided on Route 22. His wife, Edith, died several years ago.

He was born July 19, 1921 in Chatham, son of Willis and Laura (Carpenter) Danforth. Stanton was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls. He worked as a carpenter for the Consider Construction Company in Orlando, Fla. He lived in Winter Park, Fla. for 40 years, moving back to North Hoosick in 1994. While living in Winter Park, he was a member of the Elks Lodge. Stanton enjoyed fishing throughout his life.

Survivors include a son, Donald Danforth and his wife, Joyce, of Himrod; two brothers, Forrest Danforth and Franklin Danforth and his wife, Alice, all of Hoosick Falls; three grandchildren, Julie Danforth, Jonathan Danforth and Robert Danforth Jr.; also survived by several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son, Robert Danforth, who died in February.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls. Burial will be in Winter Park.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning fro 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Hoosick Fire Department through the funeral home.
