MANCHESTER -- Mrs. Stella May Allen, 82, a resident of The Fields in Manchester, died on Tuesday morning, Dec. 9, 2003 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland.

Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 18, 1921 in Rupert, the daughter of George and Pearl (King) McKeighan. She was a graduate of the Granville, N.Y. High School.

Mrs. Allen had resided for most of her life in Rupert, Dorset and Manchester. In her earlier years she had worked as a waitress in Manchester. She especially enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music, dancing and cooking.

Surviving are a son John Michael McKeighan of Granville, N.Y.; two daughters, Deborah LaMott of North Granville, and Katrina Larsen of Ozark, Ala.; a brother George McKeighan of Brandon; three sisters, Hazel Baron of West Hartford, Conn., Theressa Wilkins of Granville, N.Y. and Pearl Fales of Rutland; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mrs. Allen was predeceased by a daughter Victoria Smith of Littleton, Colo. in 1991; three brothers, Floyd McKeighan, Theodore McKeighan and Daniel McKeighan and two sisters, Mertie Cafaro and Winifred Croff.

In accordance with Mrs. Allen’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Members of Mrs. Allen’s family will be at her home, 1D-The Fields from Dec. 31 to Jan. 5 and invite friends to stop by or phone 362-3596 to share memories of her life.
