Stephen A. Gangloff 1952-2008 HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. Stephen A. Gangloff, 56, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends, on Sunday March 9 at Hoosick Falls Health Center where he has resided since February. He resided in South Cambridge, N.Y. Born February 14, 1952, in Bennington, Vt., son of the late Harold and Marvis Carlisle Gangloff, he graduated from M.A.U.H.S. class of 1970 and Paul Smith College in 1972. He was employed at Bijur Lubricating in Bennington and later at Steinerfilm Inc., in Williamstown, Mass. Steve was a Third Degree Knight, with the Knights of Columbus Council #11071 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. He was also involved with various activities in the community including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H Club, both the Town of Hoosick Little League and the Town Soccer Club. He enjoyed gardening and listening to various types of music, especially the Beatles. He watched NASCAR racing and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan. Steve was a Yankee fan but was occasionally convinced to go to a Boston Red Sox game with his wife and her mom. He cherished the memories of the family vacations in Maine and time spent at camp in Danby, Vt. Steve enjoyed reminiscing about his many happy memories as a child at his grandmother's home in South Cambridge, which he and Patti purchased in 2002 and lovingly restored it to its original beauty. He spent his leisure time driving his dog, Miss Daisy, in his convertible and fishing with his friends. He leaves his wife of 27 years, the former Patricia Reyman; two children, Ryan Gangloff of Eagle Bridge, N.Y. and Laura Gangloff of South Cambridge, N.Y.; his sister, Teresa (Richard) Wyman of Chester, Vt.; his father-in-law, Louis (Jane) Reyman, of Buskirk and his sisters-in-law, Rufina (Jeffery) May of Virginia Beach, Jacqueline Reyman of Hoosick Falls and Dorothy (Michael) Marcoux of Hoosick Falls as well as several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Relatives and friends are invited to attend A Mass of Christian Burial to be offered on Thursday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the mass at Island Hill Cemetery in Buskirk. Relatives and friends may call at the MAHAR FUNERAL HOME, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls on Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Steve wished to have contributions may be made to either the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund or the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the funeral home.
