HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Stephen Wrubleski, 92, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at the Danforth Adult Home, where he had resided since May 2005. He formerly resided on California Avenue and was the husband of the late Eva (Soroka) Wrubleski, who died on Nov. 22, 1991.

Stephen was born on Sept. 7, 1913, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Karol and Zofia Wrubleski. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. Stephen retired from Wood Flong after working there for many years. He also drove for the Rensselaer County Meals on Wheels in Hoosick Falls. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls and a longtime member of the St. Stanislaw Society, also in Hoosick Falls. Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Rafferty and her husband, John, of Amsterdam, N.Y.; his son, Raymond Wrubleski and his wife, Barbara, of Hoosick Falls; a brother, Edward Wrubleski of Schenectady, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Stephen is predeceased by two brothers, Phil and John Wrubleski.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 12 p.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street. Burial will follow the mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery.

ReIatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danforth Adult Home through the funeral home.
