Obituary Condolences

MANCHESTER -- Steven C. Wall, 54, a resident of Upper Road in Manchester, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Albany (N.Y.) Medical Center following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Steven was born in Portsmouth, Va., on Nov. 21, 1952, the son of Beverly M. and Mildred A. Finch Wall and attended schools in North Kingston, R.I. Steven was a U.S. Navy veteran, where he did his tour of duty during the Vietnam war. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years in the Manchester area. He enjoyed playing cribbage, fishing, hunting, camping and most anything that had to do with the outdoors. Steven was an ordained minister and cherished times spent with his family.

Steven is survived by his wife, the former Jean Bourn of Manchester, to whom he married in Manchester on April 16, 1983; his son Steven D. Wall of East Dorset; two daughters, Clancy Wall of Manchester and Bobby Wall of Vidor, Texas; his brother Patrick T. Wall of California; three sisters, Kathleen Smith, Suzan Smith and Dorothy Carter all of Vidor, Texas; his grandchildren, Alexander and Elijah Johnson, of Manchester, and four grandchildren in Texas and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Steven will be held Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2007, at 4 p.m. at Brewster Funeral Service in Manchester. Robert Davie will conduct the service. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at 3 p.m., one hour prior to the service. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Steven’s memory may be made to the Wall Family, in care of Brewster Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, VT 05255, or flowers may be sent the Vermont Veterans Home at 325 North Road, Bennington, VT 05201.
