1969-2013 Steven P. Gardner, 44, a resident of Hudson Falls, N.Y. and a former resident of Bennington died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 20, 2013 in Woodford. Born in Bennington, on May 29, 1969, he was the son of the late John E."Jack" and Mary (Doyle) Gardner. Steve received his education in the local elementary schools and at Mt. Anthony Union High School. He had been employed at Park Lawn Cemetery for 14 years and later at Vermont Composites. Steve was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys. His heart and soul was his devoted love for his family. Survivors include his three children, Dylan, Tyler and Hannah Gardner of Bennington; two sisters, Julie Benoit and her companion, Peter Arsenuau of Pittsfield, Mass. and Patricia Squires and her companion, Harvey Simmons of Schaghticoke, N.Y.; a brother, James Gardner and his wife Angel of Lexington Park, Md.; an uncle and aunt, James and Helen Gardner of Pittsfield, Mass.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents Steve was predeceased by a nephew, Michael Carpenter. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Holden officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 12 noon until the time of the service. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
