1957 - 2015 FIELDALE, VA Steven Michael Priest, 57, formerly of Salem, NY passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born November 4, 1957 at Mary McClellan Hospital in Cambridge, NY, Steve was the 2nd son of Emery S. Priest, Sr. and Shirley M. (Ennis) Priest. He attended Washington Academy in Salem, NY before moving on to new chapters in his life. While growing up in Salem, Steve knew he wanted to work with cars and drive trucks; and as such, you could always find him at Jupe Moores' garage. Because of Steve's soft nature, it was very easy for him to get to know people and vice versa. While living in Salem, Steve was a member of the Salem Volunteer Fire Department. On August 14, 1976, Steve married Wilma Wilson of Jackson, NY. They have one son, Michael. In September 1994, Steve married Theresa (Gasboro) Ketcham of Bennington, VT. They separated several years later, but remained married. Steve had many endeavors including working for the Red Cross in Bennington, Vermont; several trucking companies and finally working for CRST Trucking. Steve was preceded in death by his younger brother, Corey B. Priest and his father, Emery S. Priest, Sr. Steve is survived by his mother, Shirley M. (Ennis) Priest of Interlachen, FL/ Sikeston, MO.; a brother, Emery S. Priest, Jr of Johnstown, PA.; two sisters, Cindy LeHoux and Colleen Sills of Sikeston, MO; his sons, Michael S. Priest and Tyler Roy of Bennington, VT.; two granddaughters, Jessica Priest of Bennington, VT. and Sonte Clifford of VT.; one grandson, Caison Roy of Bennington, VT.; his former wife, Wilma Priest, who is still part of the family, of Bennington, VT.; Theresa Priest of Bennington, VT.; his girlfriend of several years, Virginia Raut of Fieldale, VA. and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 3 TO 5pm at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem. Funeral services will be at 1pm Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the McClellan-Gariepy Funeral Home with the Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.
