WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Steven R. Buck, 62, a resident of West Palm Beach, formerly of Arlington, Vt. and White River Junction, Vt., died on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at the Veterans Hospital in West Palm Beach following a battle with cancer. He was born in Bennington, the son of the late Robert and Iverna Buck. He grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington Memorial High School.

Soon after graduation Steven went into the U.S. Army and was sent to Vietnam, where he proudly served his country. He later went to Nashville, Tenn., where he pursued his love for music and graduated from the Jeffran College of Steel Guitar. Steven returned to Vermont and started a family. He worked for many years as a bus driver for Vermont Transit. He also worked for the town of Hartford, Vt. He played guitar in many bands and was known to many as the “Music Man.” Steven was active in the White River Junction Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved his Harley Davidson and was a member of the U.S. Military Bike Club. He volunteered at many fund-raisers and was involved in karaoke. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His survivors include his son, Bobby Veloz of Miami; three daughters, Kelly Wood and her husband Steven of Fair Haven, Vt., Kathy Vaughan and her husband Mike of Fair Haven, Angela Wadsworth and her husband William of Ft. Edward, N.Y.; a stepdaughter, Leeann Gregory and Robert Jones of White River Junction; a brother, Barry Buck of Berlin, N.Y.; and a sister, Joann Buck of Arizona. Also, nine grandchildren, a great-grandchild, a niece and a nephew. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine Buck.

A public graveside service with full military honors will be held in the West Arlington Cemetery on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the charity of one’s choice care of Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, P.O.
