Susan R. Cathcart 1935-2012 BENNINGTON Susan R. Cathcart, 76, a resident of Elm Street, Bennington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her residence. Born in Bennington December 29, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Rachel (Brin) Weeks. Susan received her education in the Bennington schools and was a 1953 graduate of Bennington High School. Susan married Robert Cathcart on December 23, 1966. Bob died March 14, 1980. She was employed for many years as a waitress at Mt. Anthony Country Club and the Vermont Steak House. Following retirement she worked as a nanny for several families in the area. Her favorite pastimes were reading and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include five children and their spouses, Michael and Susan Weeks of Salem, N.H., Donna and Chris Smith of White Creek, N.Y., Daniel and Mary Ann Cullinan of Greensboro, N.C., Kathleen and Steve Gerity of Winder, Georgia and Johanna Silver of Bethlehem, N.H.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Earl "Norm" and Dorothy Weeks of Bennington; two sisters, Paryse Fracasso of Hartford, Conn., and Simone Coyne of Bennington; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Susan was predeceased by a son and a daughter, Scott Michael Cullinan and Jennifer Cullinan, her former husband Herman Cullinan Jr. and a sister and brother, Martha Bow and Alfred Weeks. At Susan's request private services will be held at the convenience of the family. FUNERAL NOTICE: Friends of Susan are invited to join her family on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Bennington Station Restaurant at 2 p.m. for a time of sharing and remembrance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Maple Grove Cemetery, Hoosick Falls, NY. Should friends desire memorial contributions in Susan Cathcart's memory may be made to either Southwestern Vermont Health Care to be used in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department or to the Vermont through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201.
