SHAFTSBURY -- Ted Hall Bixler, 74, a resident of Cider Mill Road, died Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, 2005, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Bixler was born in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, on June 21,1931. He was the son of the late Albert and Edith (Hall) Bixler. At a young age, his family relocated to Florida where he graduated from West Palm Beach High School. He continued his education at Florida State and went on to obtain his master’s degree from the American University of St. Louis.

For many years, he had worked for the state of Florida. He moved to this area about 40 years ago and had worked at the Vermont Country Store in Manchester from which he retired in 2000.

Mr. Bixler was a Korean Army veteran and was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 3rd class in 1955.

He was a life member of B.P.O.E. No. 567 of Bennington and had enjoyed working in his gardens. He leaves nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Bixler’s request there will be no funeral services.

Arrangements are under the care of the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 West Main St., Bennington.
