Thaddeus Mitchell Joseph "Ted" Lenczowski

1925-2012 SUNDERLAND Thaddeus Mitchell Joseph "Ted" Lenczowski, 87, a resident of McKee Road in Sunderland, passed away Sunday December 16, 2012 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington.

Ted was born in Hamtramck, Michigan on May 10, 1925 the son of Mitchell and Bessie (Lubczynska) Lenczowski. He attended schools in Brooklyn, New York, graduating from Brooklyn Poly-Tech High School. He attended and received his Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his masters from Columbia University. Ted worked for Brooklyn Union Gas, Sperry Optical and Farrand Optical where he retired after thirty years of service. Ted was a member of the United States Navy during World War II and a member of Christ Our Savior Parish St. Paul Roman Catholic Church where he was very active as a Knight of Columbus, usher and always volunteered for the pancake breakfast. He enjoyed bike riding, bowling, listening to classical music and the music of the Eagles and Beatles. He enjoyed traveling, attending Broadway shows with his wife and spending time with his family.

Ted is survived by his daughters Karen Lenczowki of Bethpage, New York, Marianne Gates and her husband David of New York City, Donna Riddle and her husband Barry of Topeka, Kansas and Susan Gregori and her husband Joseph of Commack, New York, his grandchildren Justin, Kyle, Priscilla, Sarah and Elizabeth and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife the former Adeline Tamsky whom he married in Flushing, New York on February 27, 1949. Mrs. Lenczowski died March 10, 2005.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A mass of Christian death and burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 10am at Christ Our Savior Parish St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Manchester. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday December 19, 2012 from 6-8pm and Thursday December 20, 2012 from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at Brewster & Shea Funeral Service 34 Park Place Manchester Center, Vermont where the family will be in attendance. If friends desire, memorial gifts in Ted's memory may be made to the Knights of Columbus for Seminarians and The , c/o Brewster & Shea Funeral Service P.O. Box 885 Manchester Center, Vermont.
