Thelma B. Sausville 1925 - 2009 BENNINGTON Thelma B. Sausville, 84, widow of Theodore O. Sausville, a former resident of Scott Street, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Rivers Edge Community Care Home following a long illness. Born in Bennington, Feb. 6, 1925, daughter of Phillip and Alda Betit Racicot. She received her education in the Bennington schools. Mr. & Mrs. Sausville were married at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington on April 7, 1945. Mr. Sausville died Nov. 1, 1994. In earlier years Mrs. Sausville was employed at the Cooper Needle Shop and for over 26 years at Union Carbide Corporation until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Sausville was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and of the Holy Family Prayer Group and St. Anne's Society at the church. She enjoyed sewing. Her home and family were her main interests. She leaves four daughters, Bernadette and James Kenyon of Bennington, Priscilla and Leonard Weeden of Cambridge, N.Y., Theda and James Lewis of Pepperell, Mass., and Laura and James Zwynenburg of Queensbury, N.Y.; a son, Michael V. and Annette Sausville of Bennington; 11 grandchildren; four sisters, Theresa Long and Mary Brochu, both of Bennington and Helen McKenna and Anne DesLaurier, both of South Carolina; nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Sausville was pre-deceased by a grandson Nathan Sausville and nine sisters and brothers, Josephine Higgins, Florence Stemp, Carmel Pleasant, Victor , Robert, Thomas, Albert, John and Raymond Racicot. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR & SON FUNERAL HOME Monday, March 30, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m. where the Mass of Resurrection will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery. If friends desire contributions in memory of Mrs. Sausville may be made to either Sacred Heart School or the Vermont Chapter of the Parkinson Disease Foundation through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main Street, Bennington, VT 05201. All members of Saint Anne's Society are requested to meet at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday at 5 p.m for the recitation of the Rosary.
