Obituary Condolences

WHITE CREEK, N.Y. -- Thelma Fae Harrington, 81, of County Route 68, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at her home. She was the widow of William S. Harrington, who died in 1982.

Born in Cambridge on Oct. 18, 1926, she was one of the 11 children of Earl and Lillian (Coon) Woodcock. She attended school in Cambridge before leaving to care for her younger siblings when her mother became ill.

A devout Christian, Thelma loved reading the Bible. She was a member of the Center White Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed helping with anything that was needed of her.

She enjoyed crafts and for many years helped her sister, Sharron Messina with Sharron’s craft business. She did beautiful crochet work, especially baby blankets. She had a good time doing jigsaw puzzles if they weren’t too hard.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Bruce McCart, a granddaughter, Victoria McCart, a great-grandson, Christopher, all of White Creek; four sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Gilchrist of Shushan, Gladys (Dee) Headwell, Bonnie Peters and Sharron Messina; two brothers, Craig Woodcock and Tom Woodcock, all of Cambridge and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Four siblings, Gayle Woodcock, Joyce Blinstrub, Darwin Woodcock and Gloria Brandlik, died before her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Center White Creek Church at a time to be announced. Thelma’s ashes will be buried with her husband at Rosewood Cemetery.

Ackley & Ross Funeral Home 73 West Main Street, Cambridge, is in charge of arrangements.

Thelma would have liked memorial donations made to the church that was so important to her: Center White Creek Baptist Church, 28 Center White Creek Lane, Eagle Bridge, NY 12057.

Thelma was a wonderful lady that will be sorely missed by many.
