SHAFTSBURY -- Theo (TeTe) Bora Mero King died March 9, 2003 at Shaftsbury.

She was born in Ticonderoga, N.Y., Oct. 4, 1907, the daughter of Martha and Welcome Bora. She received her education in the Ticonderoga schools and was a resident of Ticonderoga most of her life until she moved to Shaftsbury.

Theo was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Ticonderoga, and was well known for her love of the rosary. Whenever anyone in the family needed help they went to her to say her beads.

She married Clarence “Johnny” Mero June 9, 1930. Johnny predeceased her May 17, 1947. She married Harry King Dec. 6, 1954. Mr. King predeceased her on April 27, 1992. She was also predeceased by a daughter, Sally Mero, and a step-son, Douglas King, three sisters, Helen (Holly) Wallace, Marjorie (Molly) Nolan, Florence (Flizz) Crowningshield, two brothers Harry (Big Buck) Bora and Walter (Little Buck) Bora.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Joseph Crossman of Shaftsbury, and one son and daughter-in-law John and Sandy Mero of Avon Park, Fla. She had eight grandchildren, Douglas Crossman, David Crossman, Carol McLenithan of Shaftsbury, and Melanie Derr of Lexington, Ky., Sue Derr of West Palm Beach, Fla., John Mero of Syracuse, N.Y., Michael Mero of Moriah, N.Y., Jennifer Hennis of Marietta, Ga. and Dixie Thorpe of Crown Point, N.Y. She had 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. King will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ticonderoga on Wednesday, March 12 at 1 p.m. All donations may be made to the Bennington Area Home Health, 100 Hospital Drive, Suite 126, Bennington, Vt. 05201.
