HOOSICK FALLS, N.Y. -- Theodore “Ted” Bozek, 82, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vt. He lived on Mechanic Street and was the husband of the late Mary Alice (Bierwirth) Bozek.

Ted was born on Aug. 29, 1922 in Hoosick Falls, son of the late John and Anna (Duda) Bozek. He was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. Ted worked with the Gerald Morrissey Construction Company in Bennington as a carpenter. Throughout his life Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and horse and dog racing. He was a former member of the VFW Post No. 8417 in Hoosick Falls.

Survivors include his daughter, Peggy Bozek, and her companion David Nolan, of Cossayuna Lake; his sister, Stella Laderach of Hoosick Falls; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sisters, Genevieve Rivard and Ceil Bozek, and a brother, Stanley Bozek.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main St., Hoosick Falls, and at 11 a.m. from the Immaculate Conception Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be offered. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue squad or the Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center, through the funeral home.
