BENNINGTON -- Mr. Theodore “Ted” Clark Rogers, 54, a resident of Gage Street, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004 at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Bennington April 9, 1950. He was the son of the late Ralph R. Rogers Sr. and Florence (Clark) Rogers. He received his education in Bennington.

On June 30, 1969 Ted married the former Sally Ann Weeks in Cambridge, N.Y.

Ted served in the United States Army during Vietnam from 1969 to 1972. In 1970, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism.

He was employed at Stanley Tools from 1972 until they closed their operations in Shaftsbury, and for a brief time at the Mount Anthony Union Middle School in Bennington.

He was an avid hunter and in earlier years enjoyed playing pool.

Survivors include his wife Sally Ann Rogers of Bennington; twin daughters, Penelope Grace and her husband Patrick of Bennington, Kimberly Trova and her husband Paul of Pittsfield, Mass.; a daughter, Stephanie Rogers Gauthier and her husband Dane of Pownal; two sons, T-Jay and Aaron Rogers, both of Bennington; four grandchildren, Meghann and Brian Grace of Bennington, and Sara and Nicole Trova of Pittsfield, Mass.; nine brothers and sisters, Patricia Ogilvie of Bennington, William Rogers of Bennington, Robert R. Rogers of Troy, N.Y., Ralph R. Rogers Jr. of Bennington, Joan Morse of Bennington, Danielle Cornell of Shaftsbury, Roy and Donald Rogers of Bennington and Susan Bushway of Hoosick Falls, N.Y.; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Jeanette Damon, and four brothers, James, George, Francis and Thomas Rogers.

A memorial service will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Demasi officiating.

Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 1 to 2 p. m. when the family will be in attendance.

In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Theodore Clark Rogers may be made to the Bennington Area Home Health Hospice through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
