1917 - 2015 BENNINGTON Therena Crowe, 97, a longtime resident of Bennington, VT and Manchester died Tuesday Jan. 20, 2015 at the Hoosick Falls Health Center in Hoosick Falls, New York. She was born in Newbury, Vt on Dec. 12, 1917. She was the daughter of the late Alvah and Bessie (Webb) Cobleigh. Therena received her education at the Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro. She married Thomas J. Crowe Sr. on June 17, 1944 in Bennington. Mr. Crowe died May 17, 1995. In earlier years Therena worked as an LPN in Brattleboro. After moving to Bennington she worked at the Bradford Mill, Hoy Manufacturing and CB Sports. She enjoyed baking, loved horses and going to Bingo. As a child she enjoyed hunting pheasants and partridge. She was a former member of the Bennington Moose Lodge. Survivors include her son, Thomas Crowe and his wife, Leslie; her grandchildren, Michelle Guerin, Therena Davendonis and Heather Martin all of Hoosick Falls, Angela Crowe and Marianne Crowe of Tampa, Fla., J.C LeBarron of Atlanta, GA. and Zach LeBarron and Erin Crowe of Bennington; Seven great-great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter; a brother, William Alva Cobleigh of North Fort Myers, Fla.; a nephew, William Cobleigh of Wallingford, VT and several cousins. She was pre-deceased by a son, James Crowe and a brother, Earl Cobleigh FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will take place in Park Lawn Chapel with the burial to be in the family lot in White Chapel Cemetery in the spring. If friends desire contributions in memory of Therena may be made to the Activities Fund at the Hoosick Falls Health Center through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
