During her youth, Theresa worked at her family's store, Yott's Market, and through the years shared her fond memories of being a "soda-jerk". Mrs. Harrington retired in 1991, after being employed for 23 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Shaftsbury VT. She was dedicated to serving others through volunteerism to multiple organizations. In 2004, she was awarded the State of Vermont Governor's Award for Outstanding Community Service by Governor James H. Douglas. In addition to her service at the VT Veterans' Home, she had volunteered in the library at Grace Christian School and at Bennington's annual Hospice Golf Tournament. A woman of great faith, she attended Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in North Bennington, VT, Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church, or the Vermont Veteran's Home Chapel in Bennington, VT. She was a member of the St. Anne's Society. Her other interests included watching golf, participating in activities at Bennington Project Independence, and spending time visiting with her neighbors. Theresa was most proud of her family and was incredibly devoted to her grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy. Mrs. Harrington is survived by her son, John J. Harrington and his wife, Sharron (Bliss), and their children, Cassandra (Cassie) M. Harrington and Dustin T. Harrington, of Arlington, VT.
