Theresa Ann Mulholland

1947-2013 Theresa Mulholland died unexpectedly on January 18, 2013, in her home at Bay Indies in Venice, Fla.

She leaves behind the father of her three children, John Mulholland of Clearwater, Fla.; her three children: Stephen Mulholland and his wife Barb of Poultney, Vt.; Megan Mulholland of Venice, Fla.; and Gregory Mulholland and his wife Ashley of Poultney, Vt.; and six granddaughters: Justine, Isabella, Jillian, Maria, Colea, and Sofia. Theresa also was survived by her two siblings, James Oakman of Poultney, Vt., and her sister and dearest friend Michele Harmon and her husband Ed of Poultney, Vt., as well as several nieces and nephews. Theresa also leaves behind her best canine friend and companion, Sophie.

Theresa was born on June 5th, 1947 in Rutland, Vt., to James and Stacia (Lopata) Oakman. She graduated from Poultney High School in 1965. In 1966, Theresa married John Mulholland. She continued her education at Castleton State College where she completed her Master's Degree in Education Administration.

Theresa was a dedicated educator. She started her teaching career at Fair Haven Grade School. She taught there for three years before she was named Principal of Benson Village School. She also held principalships at Fisher Elementary School in Arlington, VT as well as Wallingford Elementary School, from which she would retire in June of 2008. She moved to the Bay Indies park in Venice, Florida, in 2010.

Theresa enjoyed reading, knitting, and counted cross stitching wonderful creations. She was also very involved in the park's activities, such as The Bay Indies Players Society, the Hand and Foot Club, Garden Club, Mah Jong, Christmas Decorating, and Dessert Cards. Recently, she had spent many hours rehearsing for a solo and other roles in the Bay Indies Spring Production.

Theresa will be remembered by her friends and family for her dedication and devotion to those she loved. Her six granddaughters were her pride and joy. The girls have fond, fun memories of camping, singing and shopping. Theresa was known for her humor, her great heart-felt laugh, spirituality, sense of humor, intelligence, and her love for everything Disney.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The family would like to invite friends and family to the Poultney American Legion on February 2nd, 2013 for an open-house celebration of Theresa's life from 2 to 6 p.m.
