Theresa "Terri" LaCroix Teele 1928-2011 Theresa "Terri" LaCroix Teele, age 83, died peacefully in Dallas Texas, on August 12. Second child of Aime and Alexina LaCroix, she graduated from Sacred Heart School (L'Ecole du Sacre Coeur) and Bennington High School. In school she sang in many groups and was captain of the cheerleaders. She moved to Hartford, Conn., and in 1948 was named Miss Hartford and runner-up for the state title. Terri sang in solo performances in the big band era in New York, Kansas, and Texas. A graduate of the Eastman Kodak School of Dental Hygiene, a division of Un of Rochester, she practiced for over 50 years. She was a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Studios and worked as a realtor in Dallas. She married Cpl. Robert Miller of the USAF; their son, Thomas, was born on the base in Waco, Texas. She lost her second child, Lorraine, who was delivered stillborn, a loss from which she never fully recuperated. Later, she married Cliff Sartin of Texas, a marriage that lasted 17 years. Throughout her life, her signature rendition was "La Vie En Rose"-in the style of Edith Piaf. She accompanied her mother on a pilgrimage to Fatima, Portgual; she traveled to Poitou and Brieux in France for genealogical work with her sister Martha and she toured Iceland on a visit with her brother, Raymond. Terri loved her home in Dallas. In 1994, she won the Ms Senior Texas title in a gala pageant in Reno, Nev. She was an active member of the Cameo Club, a women's group dedicated to celebrating the beauty and talent of senior women. Terri loved her family, kept in touch with siblings, her son, Thomas Miller, 58 of Indianapolis, grandchildren, Matthew, 29, Sarah, 27, Andrew, 24, and a new great grandchild, Charlotte. She also leaves sisters, Celine Mallory of Bennington; Germaine and her husband Linwood Rhodes of Williamstown, and Martha Dailey of Williamstown, and a brother, Raymond of Sarasota, Fla. She was pre-deceased by her parents and a sister, Marie LaCroix Thomas. Services in Dallas will be followed by a memorial service to be scheduled on Labor Day Weekend with Maher Funeral Home. Burial to be in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
