Thomas J. Behan
1943-2010 BENNINGTON Mr. Thomas J. Behan, 67, a longtime resident of East Street in Bennington, and more recently of Rockwood Street, died Monday, April 26, 2010, at Saint Peters Hospital in Albany, N.Y., following a brief illness.
Born in Bennington, Mar. 4, 1943, son of the late John F. and Catherine Cronin Behan, he received his education in Bennington.
Tom married the former Dorothy Lemaire in Readsboro, on June 23, 1979.
In earlier years Tom was employed by the Vermont Highway Department and Shea Wood Products in North Bennington and Readsboro. He was later employed by the Bennington School District.
Mr. Behan was a car enthusiast. His home, family and grandchildren were his main interest.
He leaves his wife, Dorothy Behan of Bennington; a daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany Tobin and Louis, of Woodford, Vt.; three grandchildren, Louis Bradley, Taylyr and Kyonna Tobin, all of Woodford; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and associates at AA.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Christine Behan, who died March 21, 2001.
MEMORIAL NOTICE: At the request of Mr. Behan there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A graveside service will be held at the family lot at White Chapel Cemetery at the convenience of the family
If friends desire, contributions in memory of Mr. Behan may be made to either the Make a Wish Foundation or the Hole in The Woods Camp for terminally ill children through the office of the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
