Thomas E. Denio 1943 - 2011 BENNINGTON, VT Thomas E. Denio, 68, a resident of White Birches MHP, died on Saturday, Nov. 12, at home surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Bennington on Jan. 16, 1943, and son of the late Clifford and Edith (Plumb) Denio. He received his education in Bennington schools. He married the former Gwen Stevens on Sept. 5, 1964, in North Bennington. Mrs. Denio survives. For almost 30 years he had been employed at the Elks Lodge #567 in Bennington doing maintenance. He had also been employed at the Village at Fillmore Pond in Bennington, where he worked as a dishwasher. Tom was a member of the Elks, the VFW and the Eagle Clubs in Bennington. He was an avid New York Yankees fan in the summer and Giants fan in the fall. He loved mowing, being outdoors, but mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors besides his wife include two daughters, Karen Webb of Bennington and Tammy Roya and her husband Steve of Bennington. He leaves two grandchildren, Jessica McLenithan of Bennington and Andrew Hughes of Bennington and his fiancee Ashley. Tom also has one great-granddaughter, Jadyn Hughes. Tom is survived by two brothers, Lawrence Denio and his wife Annette of Bennington and Kenneth Denio of North Carolina; and his sister Rosemary Denio of Bennington, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. MEMORIAL NOTICE: Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St. Bennington at 10 AM. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Members of the VFW Post#1332 are asked to meet at the funeral home at 7:15 for services, the Bennington Eagles at 7:30 for services and the Bennington Elks Lodge #567 at 7:45 for services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bayada Hospice of Bennington through the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
