Obituary Condolences

BENNINGTON -- Funeral services for Mr. Thomas E. Spiak were held on Monday morning at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home in Bennington with the Rev. Michael DeMasi, chaplain of the Vermont Veterans Home, officiating. Assisting at the services was Mr. Charles Wojton, a close family friend, who offered scripture reading during the services.

Interment took place in the Vermont Veterans War Memorial Cemetery in Bennington where Father DeMasi offered the prayers of committal. Military honors were given by members of the American Legion Post 13 of Bennington. The flag was folded by Mr. Joseph Krawczyk and Mr. Ralph Brown and presented to Mr. Spiak’s brother, Philip. Taps were played by Mr. Maurice Rancourt.

Mr. Thomas E. Spiak, 57, a longtime resident of the Vermont Veterans Home, died there on Friday, Dec. 10, 2004 following a long illness.
