MANCHESTER -- Thomas F. Mongelluzzi, 58, a resident of Manchester since 1981, died Tuesday night, July 26, 2005, at Albany [N.Y.] Medical Center following an illness.

He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., March 21, 1947, the son of the late Matthew and Alberta (Berger) Mongelluzzi. He grew up in Lebanon, Pa., and graduated from high school while living in Cape May, N.J. He went on to attend Florida Atlantic University.

Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam 1967-1969. He was an infantry commander and first lieutenant. He was a courageous soldier and received many medals for his service, including a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and C.I.B. Tom was made a lifetime member of the Manchester VFW. On May 19, 1984, he was married to Judith (Brimlow) Mongelluzzi in Saint Paul’s Church in Manchester. In his youger days, Tom played football and was captain of his team. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He also enjoyed golf and carpentry. He will be remembered as a kind and gentile soul.

He is survived by his wife, Judith M. Mongelluzzi of Manchester; his brother, Matthew Mongelluzzi of Cape Cod, Mass.; his sister, Bonita Leslie of Cap Cod; a niece, Tina Popillo and nephew, Robert Leslie.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 29, at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Church in Manchester. A graveside service of committal will follow in the Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph.
