Thomas J. Dermody Obituary
Thomas J. Dermody of Palm Coast, Florida died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.

He was 79. Mr. Dermody was born November 22, 1937 in Bronx, New York, a son of John Dermody and Catherine Crahan Dermody. He was raised in and completed his formative education in Bennington, Vermont.

Thomas proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force completing college courses during his years of military service. He was honorably discharged as a Technical Master Sergeant after 20 years. A two-time Vietnam Veteran, Thomas was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and other honors. He then served another 20 years in the United States Secret Service in the Presidential Protection Division.

Mr. Dermody is survived by his wife Antonia Maria Dermody; his sons, Marcio Dermody, Michael Dermody, and Terrance Dermody; his daughters, Francina Singer and Monica Joseph, and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, James Dermody, Terrence Dermody and his sisters, Margaret Pendergast, Kathleen Nohe, and Mary Elizabeth Dermody and their famlies.

Tom was known and loved by all as a highly social, outgoing man and a patriot. He belonged to various area clubs and organizations. He was also very dedicated to his Catholic faith.

SERVICES: A Memorial Mass with military honors was held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast on Wednesday December 28 at 1130a.m. The church's Memorial Room will be open to family and friends up to one hour beforehand. A luncheon reception to celebrate Tom's legacy will be held at Pine Lakes Golf Course and Conference Center in Palm Coast beginning at 12:45p.m. Interment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Legion of Mary, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
