Thomas Pendergast BENNINGTON Thomas Andrew Pendergast, 69, died April 12, 2009, at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Fla. Born in Bennington, he had resided in Hobe Sound, Fla., since 1997, coming from Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He graduated from Bennington High School in 1957 and received his bachelor's degree from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. He served in the Army National Guard of Virginia. Mr. Pendergast was a retired sales executive for IBM. He was also the longtime President of the Shenendehowa High School Athletic Booster Club, as well as President of the Junior Plainsmen Football league. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Christopher in Hobe Sound. He was a member of American Legion Post 400 in Florida; lifetime member of B. P. O. E. 567 of Bennington; former member of Martin County Planning Board; and past Treasurer of Jamestown Property Owners Association Board of Directors, Hobe Sound. He leaves his daughter, Maureen Pendergast of Woodbridge, Va.; sons, Michael Pendergast (Holly) of Gilbert, Ariz.; Timothy Pendergast (Marcy) of Albany, N.Y.; Daniel Pendergast (Jeannine) of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Brendan Pendergast of Albany; former wives, Margaret Dermody Pendergast of Bennington, and CeCe Pendergast-Friskey of Alachua, Fla.; four grandchildren, Amanda, Meghan, Lauren, Maggie; brothers, Paul Pendergast (Linda) of Bloomfield, Conn., and James Pendergast (Kathy) of Charleston, S.C., and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew James and Helen Carroll Pendergast, and by a brother, Edward C. Pendergast.
