Timothy G. Hunt

1956 - 2015 BENNINGTON Timothy G. Hunt, 58, a well-known resident of South Street in Bennington died Friday Feb. 27, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York following a long illness He was born in Torrington, Conn., Nov. 19, 1956. He was the son of the late Richard Hunt and Frances (Wood) Hunt who survives. Tim received his education in Bennington and attended Mount Anthony Union High School. Tim served his country in the United States Navy. Following the service Tim moved to Colorado where he was employed as a sales rep for a health supplement company. He had also worked as a video editor at a local television station. He later moved to Burlington, where he was employed at Fletcher Allen Health Care as a video technician. He was instrumental in helping doctors with tele-medicine. After developing congestive heart failure Tim moved back to Bennington where he was well known for documenting local people and events with the lens of his camera. He also enjoyed building computers. He was a member of the Bennington Rural Fire Department and the First Baptist Church of Bennington. Survivors include his daughter, Mirralyn A. Hunt of Bennington; two sons, Jason Hunt and his fiancee, Melissa Rose, of Corning, N.Y., Ben Hunt and his wife, Megan. of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Audrey Hunt of Johnson, Vt. and Aiden, Raulin and Lyla Hunt of Denver, Colo.; his mother, Frances W. Hunt of Bennington; two brothers, Terry R. Hunt and his wife, Dorothy, of Chesterfield, N.H., and Roger F. Hunt of Milton, Vt.; two sisters, Krystal D. Morse and her husband, Charles, of Bennington, and Melody A. Burke and her partner, Chris Davis, of North Bennington; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held from the MAHAR AND SON FUNERAL HOME in Bennington on Wednesday March 4, at 11 a.m. The burial with military honors will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Tuesday March 3 from 4 - 7 p.m. when the family will be in attendance. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to help the family with funeral expenses through the office of the Mahar and Son Funeral Home 628 Main St. Bennington, VT 05201.
