BENNINGTON -- Tomasina N. “Tommi” Freely, wife of Stephen Freely, a former resident of Harwood Hill, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at the Vermont Veterans Home, following a long illness.

Born in Pittsfield, Mass., on Nov. 22, 1955, she was the daughter of Thomas Brown and the late Virginia (Mattoon) Brown. She received her education in Pittsfield and Notre Dame School and St. Josephs High School.

Steve and Tommi were married in Bennington on Aug. 28, 1994. Prior to her illness, Tommi owned and operated Cimarron Western Wear on Harwood Hill. She was also active with her husband in the family business, Freely’s Floor Covering.

Tommi enjoyed traveling through the western United States on shopping trips, where they would buy pottery and other items for the store. She also enjoyed making jewelry which she sold at Cimarron’s.

Survivors include her husband, Stephen Freely of Pownal; two sons, Jason and Joshua Marcoulier of Westfield, Mass.; a grandson, Jake Marcoulier; her father, Thomas Brown of Pittsfield; a sister, Kay Keller of Schenectady, N.Y.; two brothers, Michael Brown of Westfield and Donald Green of Jasper, Ga.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Contributions in Tommi Freely’s memory may be made to the Activities Fund at the Vermont Veterans Home through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
