Vanessa Littlefield Obituary
Vanessa Dale Littlefield, age 63, a resident of Sycamore Lane in Shaftsbury, died on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA following a long illness. She was born in Cambridge, NY on March 6, 1953, and was the daughter of the late Edwin and Ann (Gates) Bates. She received her education in local schools and is a graduate of Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1972. She married Gary Littlefield on June 2, 1973 in Bennington at St. Francis de Sales Church. Mr. Littlefield survives. For several years she had been employed at the The Pharmacy in Bennington. She enjoyed baking and doing crafts, but mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. Survivors besides her husband include her daughter, Teresa Duval of Bennington and her son, Gary Littlefield, II of Bennington. She leaves three grandchildren; Tala and Stephanie Duval and Lee Hunter, all of Georgia, as well as a sister Shirley Spezio of Greenwich, NY and brother Keith Bates of Florida. Vanessa also leaves her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Gilbert Rowley of Bennington and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, several siblings, and a sister-in-law; Karen O'Dell and a brother-in-law, Larry Littlefield and mother-in-law and father-in-law; Dorothy and Lawrence Littlefield. Graveside committal services will be held on Thursday morning Nov.3, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Park Lawn Cemetery in Bennington. At Vanessa's request there will not be any calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad, 120 McKinley St. Bennington, VT 05201 or the SVHC Dialysis Unit, 100 Hospital Drive, Bennington, VT 05201.
