Vera B. Fuller

1926 - 2013 NORTH BENNINGTON Vera B. Fuller, 87, a resident of White Creek Road died peacefully Saturday. June 22, 2013. at Bennington Health and Rehabilitation where she had recently become a patient.

Vera was born in South Woodstock on June 16, 1926, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Bagley) Barr. She grew up in Woodstock, where she attended local schools, graduating from Woodstock High School.

She married Carl E. Fuller Jr. in Woodstock on Oct. 26, 1945. Carl died Nov. 26, 2010.

In 1961, they made their home in North Bennington on their farm, Twin Brooks Farm. They ran the farm together until retirement.

Vera was a member of the Shaftsbury Methodist Church and former board member of many farm organizations. She enjoyed tending to her gardens, knitting and needle crafts. Her family has always been the focal point of her life. After they retired, Carl and Vera enjoyed wintering in Florida and traveling throughout the United States.

She leaves her son, Richard Fuller, and wife, Julie, of Pulaski, N.Y.; daughters Sandra Kirker of Binghamton, N.Y., Carlene Thompson and husband, Gary, of Arlington, Vt., and Kathy Humm and husband, Gerald, of Barrington, R.I.; grandchildren, Jason and Melanie, Amanda, Nathan, Kimberly, Katie, Jamie, Wendi, Ashley, 13 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves behind her loving cat, Miss Kitty, who gave her much pleasure in her last years.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Earl and Stewart Barr.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be private, with burial in the family plot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
