BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Vincent Pizzano, 85, of Bonita Springs, died March 11, 2003 at his residence. Vincent had been a resident of southwest Florida since 1980 and moved to Bonita Springs in 1986 from Pownal, Vt.

Vincent was a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, North Pownal, past exalted ruler of the Elks Lodge, Bennington, Vt., 30-year member of the Bennington Rotary Club, charter member and first president of the Bennington County Educational Service, chairman of the Bennington Catholic High School Board, chairman of the Pownal Elementary School Board, member of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory District, and co-founder of New England Wood Products, Inc. in 1946. Mr. and Mrs. Pizzano celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 18, 2002.

Mr. Pizzano is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Pizzano of Bonita Springs; two sons, Brian Pizzano of Vicenza, Italy, and Thomas Pizzano and his wife Diane of Herndon, Va.; daughter, Ann Corrigan and her husband Brian of Phoenix, Ariz.; sister, Eleanor Threlfall of Kingston, N.H.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial mass will be held on Monday, March 17, 2003 at 10 a.m. at St. Leo Catholic Church, Bonita Springs. Inurnment will be in Vermont.
