Violet E. Snow 1922 - 2008 ARLINGTON Violet Elizabeth Snow, a resident of Bennington Health and Rehab, and former longtime resident of Arlington, died on Thursday evening, April 17, 2007, following a brief illness. Born in Peru on Sept. 26, 1922, daughter of Emery and Lillian Bolton Moffitt, she was educated in local schools. A homemaker, Mrs. Snow was devoted to her family. She loved raising poultry, doing beadwork, telling jokes, and studying genealogy. Violet also loved her grandchildren. Her husband, Floyd Snow, whom she married Dec. 23, 1951 in the Capstone Baptist Church in North Bennington, died June 8, 1993. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Berenice Snow Sr. of Hiddenite, N.C.; a daughters, Mary S. Kerner of Arlington; two step-daughters, Barbara and (Bill) Gordon of Londonderry, and Connie Reed of Manchester. She also leaves Fred Kerner of Bennington. She has seven grandchildren: Clinton Snow, Jr. and ( Darcy), Chris Snow and (Betsy), Jessi Kerner, Sara Pelletier and (Corey), Fritz Kerner and (Xylina), Amy Kerner, and Lillian Lape and (Shane); her step-grandchildren, Raymond Chase and (Eileen), Rocky Gordon and (Cindy), Dustin Gordon and (Sheila), Steve Gordon and (Donna), Laurie Wachlin and (Chuck), and Debbie Blackmer; several great-grandchildren and great-great -grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Sheila Snow. She was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Nichols, and by a son-in-law, Justin Reed, and by her siblings, Paul Holmberg, Dwight Moffitt, Clifton Moffitt, Robert Moffitt and William Beers. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services will be Monday, April 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the Federated Church in East Arlington. Interment will take place in the family lot in Landgrove Cemetery later in the spring. Friends may call at the MAHAR and SON FUNERAL HOME, 628 Main St., Bennington, on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.. Memorials contributions may be made to BPI, Bennington Health and Rehab Center Activities Fund, or to the School of Nursing Student Fund at Southern Vermont College through the funeral home.
