Obituary Condolences

ARLINGTON -- A service to celebrate the life of Virginia King Rudd was held on Friday morning, Sept. 10, at the Federated Church of East Arlington. The Rev. Thomas Truscott, interim pastor, officiated. Douglas Bischoff served as organist and music director, leading the congregation in singing “O God, Our Help in Ages Past” and “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee.” Patti Cody sang the solo selection “I Come To The Garden.” During the service, Mrs. Rudd’s son Scott offered words of tribute and remembrance of his mother’s life. The congregation joined together in reciting Psalm 23 and the Lord’s Prayer.

Interment followed in the Rudd family lot at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington with the Rev. Truscott offering the committal service. Mrs. Rudd’s granddaughter Rebecca Lee Rudd served as the urn bearer. Following the committal, friends and family members gathered in Bailey Hall for a time of fellowship and refreshment.

Mrs. Rudd, a resident of Santa Clarita, Calif. and formerly of Arlington, died on Aug. 12, 2004 in Santa Clarita at the age of 73.

Service arrangements were under the care of the Arlington Chapel of the Hanson Walbridge Funeral Home.
